James Breen
Vice President
James joined Nexus in 2020. Previously, James was in the Private Equity Group of Marlin Equity Partners, where he primarily focused on investments in the firm’s flagship fund. James currently serves on the Board of Directors of Lamps Plus. James began his professional career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He holds an A.B. from Harvard University.
Jamie Brown
CFO & CCO
Jamie joined Nexus in 2017. Jamie previously served as the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Muddy Waters Capital LLC. Prior to that time, he spent over six years at Standard Pacific Capital LLC (“Standard Pacific”), most recently as the Chief Financial Officer. Before joining Standard Pacific, Jamie spent two years as an Audit Manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Investment Management Group, where he focused on hedge fund and other alternative clients. Jamie holds a B.A. from Newcastle University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
Adeline Cheung
Corporate Controller
Adeline joined Nexus in 2021. Previously, Adeline spent six years at private equity firm Brentwood Associates as the Fund Accountant. Adeline holds a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Michael Cohen
Partner
Michael co-founded Nexus in 2013 and is a Managing Partner of the firm. Michael currently serves on the Board of Directors of Acosta, Dollar Shave Club, MAV Beauty, Sky Organics, Sugarbear and TOMS Shoes. Michael previously served on the Board of Directors of General Nutrition Centers (NYSE: GNC), Smart & Final (NYSE: SFS) and Sprouts Farmers Market (NASD: SFM). Prior to co-founding Nexus, Michael spent 13 years at Apollo Global Management in its Private Equity Group. He began his career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Salomon Smith Barney. Michael holds a B.B.A. from Emory University.
Kayla Dean Obia

Kayla joined Nexus in 2020. Kayla currently serves on the Board of Directors of MAV Beauty, TOMS Shoes and Sky Organics. Previously, Kayla was at Abry Partners, where she focused on investments across the firm’s private equity and senior equity funds. Kayla began her professional career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse. She holds a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Sloan Damon

Sloan joined Nexus in 2022. Previously, Sloan was at CI Capital Partners, where he primarily focused on the firm’s business services and distribution & logistics investments. Sloan began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Jefferies. He holds a B.A. in Economics and History from Vanderbilt University.
Ben Fader-Rattner
Managing Director
Ben joined Nexus in 2023. Prior to joining Nexus, Ben was Managing Member of Space Summit Capital LLC, a special situations hedge fund he founded in January 2021. Prior to Space Summit, Ben was a Managing Director at Canyon Partners from 2008 to 2020 where he led investments across the capital structure in several industries. Prior to Canyon, Ben was an analyst at Glenview Capital in 2007 where he invested primarily in debt opportunities as well as an associate at The Carlyle Group from 2005 to 2007 where he focused on leveraged buyout transactions. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., from 2003 to 2005. Ben received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also currently serves as a director of Osiris Acquisition Corp. and has previously served as a director for M3-Brigade Acquisition III Corp.
Daniel Flesh

Daniel joined Nexus in 2018 and is a Managing Partner of the firm. Daniel currently serves on the Board of Directors of FTD, HDT Global, Savvas Learning Company, Sperber Landscape Companies and TruRoots. Daniel previously served on the Board of Directors of Hostess Brands (NASD: TWNK), CEC Entertainment, The Fresh Market, and Jacuzzi Brands. Prior to joining Nexus, Daniel spent 11 years at Apollo Global Management in its Private Equity Group. He began his career in the Investment Banking Group of Bear, Stearns & Co. Daniel holds a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.

Justin joined Nexus in 2023. Prior to joining Nexus, Justin was an Associate at Jefferies, where he worked on the consumer and retail team. Justin holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Virginia.

Damian previously served on the Board of Directors of Cypress Performance Group, Resident Inc., Rexnord Corporation (NYSE: RXN), McGraw-Hill Global Education, Jacuzzi Brands, Linens ‘n Things, and Connections Education. Prior to co-founding Nexus, Damian spent 13 years at Apollo Global Management in its Private Equity Group. He began his career in the Mergers, Acquisitions & Restructurings Department of Morgan Stanley. Damian holds a B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

Evan joined Nexus in 2017. Evan currently serves on the Board of Directors of FTD, HDT Global, Savvas Learning Company, and Acosta. Previously, Evan was a Senior Analyst at Alden Global Capital, where he focused on distressed and special-situation investments. Prior to that time, Evan was at Moelis & Company, where he helped successfully restructure over $22 billion in liabilities. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Bradley Kottman
Principal
Brad joined Nexus in 2022. Previously, Brad was a Vice President at Clearlake Capital Group, where he primarily focused on the firm’s software, tech-enabled services, and industrials investments. Brad previously served on the Board of Directors of Precisely, Confluence, Hi-Crush, and TSI, and was involved in the firm’s investment in Janus (NYSE: JBI). Prior to Clearlake, Brad was an Associate at Trilantic Capital Partners and an Investment Banking Analyst at Citi. He holds a B.A. from Rice University.
Connor McKhann
Vice President
Connor joined Nexus in 2018. Previously, Connor was in the Private Debt Group at Ares Management, where he primarily focused on investments in private credit in senior and junior debt capital as well as minority equity. Connor began his professional career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Wells Fargo Securities. He holds a B.S. from Duke University.
Bobby Moran

Bobby joined Nexus in 2023. Prior to joining Nexus, Bobby was a Senior Associate at H.I.G. Capital, where he primarily focused on the firm’s business services, healthcare and industrials investments. Prior to H.I.G., Bobby was an Investment Banking Analyst at Citigroup. He holds a B.S. from Boston College.
Jim Morris
Managing Director – Portfolio Operations
Jim joined Nexus in 2023. Previously Jim was at Sun Capital, where he focused on value creation and transformation initiatives as part of the portfolio operations team. Prior to Sun, Jim led Johnson Controls’ Building Management Systems division and was a Group President at L3Harris. Before that he held senior leadership positions at Western Digital and Seagate and was an Associate Partner at McKinsey. Jim was an Intelligence Officer in the United States Army (where he received a Bronze Star) and holds an M.B.A. from Northwestern’s Kellogg School and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy.
TJ Parthemer
Principal
TJ joined Nexus in 2020. TJ currently serves on the Board of Directors of Natural Balance, Lamps Plus, Sky Organics and TruRoots. Previously, TJ was at Centerbridge Partners, where he focused on investments across the firm’s private equity and credit funds. Prior to Centerbridge, TJ was a Private Equity Associate at Snow Phipps Group and an Investment Banking Analyst at Lazard. He holds a B.S. from Cornell University.
Suchi Sastri
Managing Director – Portfolio Operations
Suchi joined Nexus in 2024. Previously Suchi was a Managing Director & Partner at BCG, where she led the Consumer practice on the West Coast. Prior to BCG, Suchi worked in various operational roles at Amour Vert, Caribou Coffee and Amazon. Suchi began her career at BCG and worked across industries including consumer, pharma, and business services. Suchi holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Andrew Sherwood

Andrew joined Nexus in 2022. Prior to joining Nexus, Andrew was at Bank of America, where he was on the leveraged finance team focused on syndicated credit facilities across various industries. He holds a B.A. from Davidson College where he double majored in Economics and Political Science.
Ethan Taranta
Managing Director - Portfolio Operations
Ethan joined Nexus in 2023. Previously Ethan spent four years with Platinum Equity's portfolio operations team focused on large scale value creation and transformation initiatives. Prior to Platinum, he spent five years at Polaris Industries as Chief Financial Officer of a retail and manufacturing subsidiary and Director of Corporate Development. He also spent six years at ExxonMobil in a series of commercial and finance roles. He began his career as an Infantry and Reconnaissance officer in the United States Marine Corps. He holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a B.S from the United States Naval Academy.

Jonathan joined Nexus in 2014. Jonathan currently serves on the Board of Directors of Dollar Shave Club, Natural Balance, Sperber Landscape Companies, Sugarbear and TOMS Shoes. Previously, Jonathan was the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis for Earth Fare, an Oak Hill Capital Partners’ portfolio company. Prior to that time, Jonathan was in the Private Equity Group at Oak Hill Capital Partners and the Investment Banking Group of Bear, Stearns & Co. He holds a B.S. from the University of Virginia.
